A topic I write about often is The French Paradox. It's an intriguing “phenomenon” about how the French, in general, maintain good health and weight despite consuming a diet rich in croissants, cheese, bread, cream sauces, and butter – not to mention those delectable desserts! You can read more about the French Paradox here.
But the French aren’t the only ones who eat what many consider to be fattening or bad for health. There is a similar occurrence in Italy.
If you’ve ever been to either country or spoken to someone who has visited, it’s common for one to wonder, “How can I eat pasta, pizza, and gelato in Italy and not gain weight—or have trouble digesting gluten?”
Well, I have the answer to this “mystery,” too.
Once you understand the lifestyles of the French and Italians—their eating habits, the quality of their food, and how they cook—you’ll discover the secrets to eating well and staying healthy. And the best part? You don’t have to live in France or Italy to enjoy the same benefits.
In my upcoming book, set for release in the fall of 2024, I'll show you how to embrace this lifestyle and eat well wherever you are. For now, I'll share insights in these daily Dinner Stories about life, food, and living well in Florence along with ideas you can bring into your own home.
Ciao for now!
