Ingredients

Fresh fruit

Vanilla gelato

Instructions

Fresh Fruit

  • Serve fresh fruit over gelato.
Simmered Fruit

  • Simmer fresh fruit in a pan with an optional pinch of sugar or drizzle of honey for about five to eight minutes.
  • Serve the fruit warm, cold, or at room temperature over creamy gelato.

Notes

You can use ice cream for this dessert, but I prefer gelato. It typically has less sugar and a richer, creamier taste. For me, the difference is clear during a taste test: when I eat gelato, I don’t crave more the way I often do with ice cream, and I don’t feel as thirsty afterward, which is a sign to me that ice cream contains too much sugar.
